Corporate payment expert AirPlus International has appointed a new Head of Sales for Germany and Switzerland: As of September 1st, Andreas Topp is now responsible for new customer acquisition in the two countries. He succeeds Michael Maass, who moved to Qatar Airways last December. In his new role, Andreas Topp will report to Birgit Hoelzel, Director Country Manager DACH at AirPlus.

Topp has more than 20 years of experience in sales, the greater half of it in the corporate payments industry. He spent almost eight years at American Express in various management positions, including Head of Sales for the business credit card division in Germany. At Visa, he was responsible for business development at Visa Business Solutions in Central Europe for around four years. Most recently, he was Head of Business Development Central at the Dublin-based insurtech scale-up Companjon.

“I am delighted to welcome Andreas Topp to the team as the new Head of Sales for Germany and Switzerland,” says Birgit Hoelzel. “With his many years of diverse experience, Andreas brings extensive expertise and a strong network to his new position. With his leadership skills and passion for sales, he is an ideal addition to our sales team. Together, we want to build on our previous successes in these two important markets and achieve new goals.”
